Mobile apps

Apps for iPhone and Android that your staff or customers actually open, because they do one job quickly.

Who it is for

Businesses whose staff work away from a desk, and businesses whose customers book, order or check things on their phone.

What it includes

  • Apps for iPhone and Android from one shared codebase, or fully native when the app needs it
  • Staff apps for rotas, clocking in, holiday and jobs, and customer apps for booking and ordering
  • Sign-in, roles and permissions, with the data kept on a secure server
  • Notifications, offline use where it matters, and links to the systems you already use
  • Publishing to the App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts
  • Updates for new phones and operating system versions under a monthly care plan

What it does not include

  • An app where a mobile-friendly website would do the job. If it would, we will say so
  • Promises about downloads or app store rankings

How it works

Tell us what slows you down

A short call or a message is enough. We ask how the work happens today and what keeps going wrong.

Agree a written scope

We agree the screens, who uses them and one price, before any work starts.

Try it on your own phone

You get a test version to install and click through, with your own wording and rules. You tell us what to change before it goes to the app stores.

Go live

We launch it, show your team how it works and keep it running under a monthly care plan.

Questions we get asked

iPhone, Android or both?

Usually both, from one shared codebase built with React Native or Flutter, which keeps the cost down. When an app needs more from the phone than that allows, we build it natively in Swift and Kotlin.

Do we need an app, or would a website do?

If people use it now and then, a fast mobile website is cheaper and needs no download. An app earns its place when people open it every day, need notifications, or use it without a signal.

Can I see an example?

Yes. Ni’ma, our own app for selling surplus canteen food, has a working demo, and our workforce demo includes a staff app for clocking in and booking holiday.

Who owns the app?

It is set out in writing before we start, and the app is published under your own App Store and Google Play accounts.
